Salmon and Trout fly Fishing Trips in Scotland

3 day and 6 day guided fishing holidays and vacations
on the River Tay, River Spey and the River Tweed.

Outlined below is a typical 3 day salmon fishing holiday just to give you a flavour of what
we have to offer. one day salmon fishing trips with a Ghillie (Guide) are also available.

Day One

Group sizes can vary but are usually between two and six fishermen. Around 8am your guide will meet you at a pre-arranged pick-up point. (Edinburgh Hotel, Rail Station or the Airport.) Your guide will then drive you to the first fishing venue. This would normally be on the rivers Tay, Spey or the Tweed depending on the water levels and which river is fishing the best at that time.

Evening draws in on the first day - home for dinner and prepare for the next days fishing adventure.

While spinning is very popular, our speciality is fly fishing so let us teach you a few different casting styles including the famous Spey casting and roll casting. Remember your guide is an expert and has a wealth of local knowledge so please feel free to use him to his full extent for tuition, hints or guidance. Our guides will be only too happy to assist in any way they can.

On arrival at the river of our choice for that day, beats are allocated and your first day's fishing begins. Packed lunches are available each day, and your first day's fishing generally ends late afternoon, your accommodation, a hot shower and an evening meal is only a short drive away.

Salmon of 20lbs are not uncommon while the record to beat is 64lbs. Good luck and tight lines!

Day Two

A fishing trip to remember.

After a good hearty breakfast, we set off for your second days fishing which could be spent on the Tay, Teith, Tweed or the River Spey, depending on the time of year and where the salmon are running.

We will use our extensive knowledge of these rivers to ensure your best chance of catching fish. All of the beats on each river has its own unique charm and beauty and most of them can easily be fished from the bank although waders are advisable.

The River Spey is our most popular venue in the summer. The Spey runs through the Cairngorms Mountains and is used by the world famous Speyside Distilleries. The pools here are rich and varied and the scenery is spectacular. Try Fishing the fast boulder fly pools for salmon or cast a line over the slow moving streams for a brown trout.

Generally our fishing day starts at 9am and finishes at 5pm.
However, if you want to be up with the lark it can be arranged.
Have a word with your ghillie the day before.

Day Three

The last day and your last chance to catch the one that keeps getting away. You will normally be on the same river as the day before and to give you as much time as possible on the river, we put your cases in the car in the morning, ready for your mid-afternoon departure.

We will have you back in Edinburgh or your departure point at around 6 pm, hopefully with lots of stories to tell of the fish you landed and the ones that got away but certainly with some great memories.

Our six day fishing holidays are run along similar lines and although most of our trips start from Edinburgh we can arrange to have you picked up and returned to any airport in Scotland or if you are part of an organised tour with friends or family and have a few days we can also arrange to pick you up from your hotel or B&B.

Last day but a lot of great memories and plenty of salmon fishing stories to tell.

Our 3 day fishing holidays start from as little as £560 and our 6 day fishing
holidays start from as little as £860 please see our price guide.
