Artloch Fishery

Artloch Fishery is situated 3 miles outside of Huntly, Aberdeenshire just off the A920
Huntly to Dufftown road and is almost equidistant between Aberdeen and Elgin.

There is approximately 5 acres of bank trout fly-fishing.

The loch varies in depth from 5 to 12 feet and is stocked with Rainbow trout between 2 lbs and 10 lbs, Brook trout averaging 2 lbs and resident Brown trout up to 10 lbs. With its abundance of natural aquatic life, it provides exceptional top-water fishing with excellent hard fighting trout.

The fishing hut onsite contains a toilet, a microwave, seating and tables and tea and coffee is provided. All amenities are designed so less able anglers can enjoy the facilities and angling and this includes the use of an electric scooter; please telephone in advance to book. A car park is situated adjacent to the loch and fishing hut.

They are open all year round from 8am till dusk.

Prices for 2006 season are :

4 fish £21.00 -:- 3 fish £17.00 -:- 2 fish £13.00 -:- 1 fish £9.00

Sports Ticket - Barbless Hooks Only, Catch and Return.
All day - £11.00 -:- 5 hrs - £9.00 -:- 2 hrs - £7.00

Junior Ticket - 5 hrs - £7.00 (1 fish limit)

Haddo Trout Fishery

Haddo trout fishery is situated between Old Meldrum and Methlick on the B1790.

The fishery has only just recently been established and I know that a great deal of time, effort and money has been spent to provide a first class venue for trout anglers. The location is ideal being set in peaceful, scenic and sheltered surroundings bordered on all sides by the mixed woodland of The Haddo Estate.

The banks are allowed to grow naturally creating a superb habitat for an abundance of wild life and providing plenty of natural feed.

The fishery covers just over six acres and will be stocked regularly with fish of between 2 to 4lb. (plus some really big ones).

The loch does have a natural population of wild brownies and anglers are respectfully requested to carefully return them.

Fishing is by boat only for quality rainbow trout.
The boats are suitable for two anglers and buoyancy aids are provided.

The facilities include a Fishing hut with tea & coffee, tackle for hire and toilet.

Mossat Trout Fishery

Mossat Trout Fishery is situated in a pleasant rural location in Aberdeenshire.
(14 miles from Huntly and 34 miles from Aberdeen.)

Travel west from Aberdeen on the A944 through Alford and then turn right following the signs towards Huntly. Cross over the River Don at the Bridge of Alford and follow the river. After passing the junction with the A97 at Mossat, the entrance to the fishery is about 300 yards on left hand side.

Mossat Trout fishery has being established since 1994.

There are 3 lakes which offer fishing for Rainbow trout, brown trout and American brook trout. The main lake, which is approximately 2½ acres, is constantly stocked, with between 400 to 600 fish in the main lake at any one time. The largest fish to have been caught from the main lake is 13lbs

The second biggest lake is
approximately 1½ acres.

The smallest lake (The children’s pond)
is about ½ an acre and is stocked on
average with approx. 200 fish.

The Fishery is fly fishing only and has become a
very popular venue for locals and tourists alike.

The facilities include free car parking, toilets and a clean bothy where you can relax.
Tea and coffee are also provided free of charge. They are open from 8am till 10pm.
Tuition/advice is also available at £5.00 per hour and tackle hire is £2.00.

Prices are :-
Full day permit - 4 fish limit - then catch and release - £20.00
8 hour permit - 3 fish limit - then catch and release - £15.00
5 hour permit - 2 fish limit - then catch and release - £12.00
Sporting permit - catch and release - All day - £12.00. 5 hours - £8.00

There are reduced rates for Children 12 or under - (Must be supervised at all times)

Prices for group outings can be discussed and weekly fishing is available at a discount price.

Pitfour Loch

Pitfour Loch is situated on the Pitfour Estate at
Old Deer which is about 12 miles west of Peterhead.

It is bank and boat fishing for rainbows and brown trout.

They are open all year round and facilities include refreshments and tackle for sale.

Prices are :

£14 evening ticket 3 fish
£12 evening ticket 2 fish

Boats are charged at £6 per day

Lochter Fishery & Country Club

Lochter Fishery is situated 1 mile east of Oldmeldrum on the A920 towards Colpy.
Only 20 minutes drive from Aberdeen. The fishery has 3 main lochs and 1 junior
pond and the fishing is fly and bank only except for the junior pond.

Facilities include Tea & Coffee shop, licensed bar, picnic and barbecue area, childrens play area, tackle for hire and there is disabled access for the fishing and toilets.

Prices are :

£13 for 4 hours 1 fish limit

£16.50 for 8 hours 2 fish limit

£20 dawn till dusk 3 fish limit

Catch and release tickets are also availabe at £10.

There is free fishing on the junior pond with the fish being paid for by the pound.

Other facilities and corporate entertainment include Grass Rally Karting, Target Golf, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery and Off Road Driving. They also have a large function suite which can cater for up to 350 people.

Logie trout fishery is situated 12 miles south of Aberdeen on the A90.

The fishery has Two ponds on a sheltered 3 acre site and are open for fly fishing only.
