The North Pond fishes remarkably well and has few bad days. On more than one ocassion I've blanked on the Island pond to find that just about everyone coming of the North has had a full bag. |
Crombie pond is situated in the Crombie Country Park, which is just a few miles further on from The Monikie Country Park. It's pretty well sign posted and bailiffs would be happy to give you directions. The picture below shows the water level when it was drained a couple of years ago. Normally the water would be close to the trees you can see on the right bank. |
To fish here you still have to obtain a permit and safety jacket from the Angling Club at Monikie and then make your way to Crombie. You are given a key for the fishing hut and car park which you need to return at the end of the day together with your fishing returns.
The fishing is fly fishing only and by boat, there is no bank fishing on any of the ponds.
