Ross Macdonald (Fly-Tyer & Writer), River Dee, Aberdeen

I have enjoyed a fantastic first season using the Monteith. For me, three things make the Monteith stand out from the crowd : it is an outstanding line to cast with, it is thoughtfully designed to be tactically versatile and it is beautifully made.     The bar has been raised.

Illtyd Griffiths AAPGAI (Instructor), River Towy, Mid Wales.

"As all instructors I spend a lot of time ensuring that my clients have balanced tackle. I have over the years advised them to use various lines for salmon fishing - all of which have had their drawbacks. Some are too thin in the tip to cast in the wind or to take polyeaders, some have heads which are too long for many fishers to handle or so short that line control becomes an issue, or they lack durability.

Fortunately for me I was introduced whilst teaching on the Tay to the Monteith line system - to say it was a revelation would be an understatement! I have fished and taught with this line in its various configurations for two seasons both in the UK and abroad and have found it does exactly what it says on the packet.

I have also advised many of my clients (of various casting abilities) to purchase the line and without exception it has improved their performance. It seems to work really well on all the various rods designated 10 or 10/11 I have tried from Scott, Sage, Loomis, Daiwa, Guideline and Loop and seems to be the ultimate general purpose fishing line for all abilities. It has become both a personal favourite and one that I always recommend for my clients"

Jock Royan, Kinermony Beat (Ghillie), River Spey.

As a Full-Time Ghillie on the Spey, I am most fortunate to have the opportunity of getting my hands on and testing all the latest tackle on a daily basis. Having tested many Airflo products over the years, I was introduced to Jock Monteith and his Multi-System last year and since then have had very few other lines through my Rod-Rings and it has become a firm favourite amongst the majority of my guests.

As well as my own Loomis GLX 15’ I have tested it on a variety of rods and the most consistent factor throughout the tests was that the line exhibited great turnover at a variety of distances and more importantly with all the tips. The loop connections are low profile and move easily through the rings and are also cleverly colour-coded which makes it easy to identify the correct tip lengths. The tapered back end of the head has a black fitted sleeve which allows you to consistently control the correct amount of line for optimum rod loading. My personal favourite is the 78ft head combination however with 8 Tips and 12 different fishing applications, this line gives you the added flexibility of fishing on a variety of rivers with throughout varying conditions.

My rod is set up with the Monteith Multi-System through choice. Additionally, the Monteith Floating Lines are in my opinion the only floaters capable of fully turning over the entire range of Poly Tips. I therefore firmly believe that these products cannot be beaten on today’s market and have no hesitation in personally recommending them.

Bryan James AAPGAI (Instructor), Rivers Wye and Usk, S Wales.

Having used the Monteith Multi-System Speyline for the last 2 years I have found it to be everything claimed by its designer Jock Monteith.

The 12 fishing applications gives the angler the opportunity to cover all eventualities and situations encountered by salmon anglers in all waters & weather conditions.

I have no hesitation in recommending the Monteith Multi System to all salmon anglers.

Gary Scott AAPGAI (Instructor), River Teith, Nr Glasgow.

I have used many fly lines in my time, this is a fantasic concept with the tips and the different head lengths, the line is very supple, there is no memory in the line. and the loop to loop joints do not hinge which I like very much as presentation is a key factor for me.

I have fished around the world with this line and found it to perform very well in all conditions.

In my opinion the performance and versatility of the Monteith Multi System cannot be beaten and is a must for all serious salmon fishers.

Well done Jock keep up the good work

Ken Reid, Park Beat (Ghillie), River Dee.

I am gillie on Park estate, Royal Deeside which has the renowned Park beat that produces on average 500-700 Atlantic salmon per annum to the fly, as a result of us being a fly only beat, and truly a wonderful place to fish. We have a lot of knowledgeable and competent fly fishermen who are both discerning and knowledgeable about their sport, who bring all the top quality equipment available to our beat in pursuit of fresh hard fighting Atlantic salmon on the fly.

I first came across the Monteith Multi System a couple of years ago and was very impressed and since then have used one for all my salmon fishing. I have taken a great many fish this year to up to 28lbs and have taken them in the most testing conditions to make you wonder at the beauty of modern technology and equipment.

The Monteith Multi System has enabled me to catch fish from the most difficult lies in the most difficult conditions where line control is of paramount importance. My guests who have used the line have been seriously impressed and a large number have made purchases of the Multi System passing on sincere thanks and gratitude in the process.

There is a place for a number of lines in the salmon fisher’s armoury but for me the Monteith is suitable for all my fishing requirements and I wouldn't fish without it today. Both the 9/10 and 10/11 lines are state of the art lines designed to get your fly out precisely and efficiently and they enable the fly to land like a "butterfly with sore feet". Truly a super system and one that I and many of my peers highly recommend.

Glyn Freeman, AAPGAI (Instructor), River Eden, Cumbria.

Having fished with the Monteith Multi-Tip fly line now for over a full season I simply cannot find fault, it does exactly what I would expect from a well thought out peice of kit. The tapers are perfect for the turnover of the various densities of 10'-15' tips with strong loops that do not hinge, it cast beautifully and with purpose. Being a sky blue, one colour, no stretch fly line which I prefer for casting and better hook-ups, I like the black sleeve that slides up behind the back taper for exact placement of the head. The running line is of the correct diameter for both a good feel and control when fishing and shooting line, all in all this is the best Spey-line I have used to date and highly recommend it to any serious salmon fisher.
